Titus 2: Some Questions

1. Who wrote this? (the man, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit)

2. Who was it written to?

Titus
"To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour."

3. What was the purpose?

Instruction for Titus to set things in order and ordain elders.
"For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:"
Titus 1:5

4. What is the expressed purpose of chapter 2?

It is an explanation of sound doctrine as indicated by the colon at the end of verse 1.
"But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:"
